Financial Controller

We are now recruiting a Financial Controller. The position is based at the Head Office in Stockholm, but the main focus will be collaboration with ForumCiv’s international offices. You will quality assure and be a support in financial issues. The Financial Controller will be responsible for financial reporting, analysis and follow-up of the accounting and the budgeting and forecast process. The position will also contribute to strengthen ForumCiv´s work with internal control and anti-corruption. This position reports to Head of Finance. 

Main responsibilities:

  • Providing support and capacity strengthening to the regions in financial issues.
  • Reviewing and completing regions/countries’ accounts and financial follow up’s in close collaboration with the regions.
  • Coordinating the budget/forecast process for the regions.
  • Preparing financial statements, budget reports, forecasts, cost analysis reports, profit and loss statements, as well as making recommendations for spending or cost cuts.
  • Contributing to the implementation of proper accounting methods, policies and principles in the regions.
  • Responsible, in cooperation with ForumCiv’s international offices, for the follow-up of the annual audit and, when necessary, ensuring that measures are taken.
  • Carrying out financial monitoring according to the decided yearly compliance and financial monitoring plan, as well as dealing with any deviations from the plan.
  • Following up on the recommendations of the compliance and financial monitoring audit.

Qualifications and experience:

We are looking for a University graduate, with a degree in finance/accounting related field. A background in Financial Control, a minimum 5 years at a senior level. You have documented experience speaking and writing Swedish and English. Spanish is a great plus.

  • Excellent analytical skills and a good understanding of general financial issues
  • You demonstrate both flexibility and high integrity/ethics in dealing with internal and external counterparties as well as having the ability to set priorities and create focus on accomplishing set objectives
  • Solution-oriented, self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to deliver to deadlines with a sense of urgency while retaining very good attention to detail/quality and acting in line with company policies
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills – acting as a real team player with the ability to communicate at all levels.

About the position

This is a permanent full-time employment with a 6-month’s probationary period starting as soon as possible. The position is located at ForumCiv's head office, Alsnögatan 7 in Stockholm. The position requires travel to our international regional and country offices.

We have collective bargaining agreements.

Please note that the position legally requires that the candidate have permission to live and work in Sweden (i.e. hold an EU work permit).
